I enjoy receiving holiday cards from friends and relatives across the world. It's an important part of the fabric of Christmas. Seeing how the kids are growing, and reading the letters about the year and its ups and downs. I would really miss this little piece of the holiday if say some evil thing some how took it from us. No cards in the mail box, no letters to make you smile, nothing to hold in your hand knowing that someone took time and energy from their 2100st century life to dig deep into the spirit that is this season and produce a card, a note, put it in an envelope, add postage and go to post office and send it with our address on it.
My wife and I often have a kind of race to the mail box to see who has cared enough to send a card and note. I find reasons to hang out near the front door about the time the mail comes, just so I can be the first to open the little pieces of love in the mail.
Friends, the evil I speak of has arrived. Her name appears to be http://www.jacquielawson.com .
My siblings, at least the ones that communicate with me, have fallen to this evil. They send these cute digital cards, and a 5-7 word note. Some thing like... Merry Christmas to the you and yours. Are You kidding?
Really.
Are you Kidding?
Why not sign it, Merry Christmas I spent 4 minutes looking through digital cards and liked this one so I sent it to a mass mailing from my outlook address book because that's so much easier.
Some people send both type cards. to those I say well done! But for those who just send a digital card I say. Pffftttt.
Now, in their defense, times are busy. One of my siblings has been off of work for 3 weeks. How can one possible find time when your busy pursuing the tv schedule all day. Others have a home business that has them hopping! (Uh Huh)
I love my siblings, and do not in any way think this is there fault. Its the lure of easy money syndrome. Its fast and fulfills the function. And, they really don't like me much. Completely understandable as I was my parents favorite in every way.
