Car Break In

A few nights ago about 30 cars were broken into in our area. My jeep happened to be the LAST ONE. It appears they were scared off at 5:00 in the morning by either the police or my neighbors lights coming on. The police BANGED on the door at 5:10, and I went out to see what the situation was...
>>
>> My premise of- locking your doors is stupid, because if they are going to rob you they will, proved true once again.... The Jeep was in the drive (as I still have a bay full of Doug's crap in the garage from his move FIVE years ago, and therefore can not fit the Jeep in the garage). The jeep was unlocked, (see my stated opinion on locking doors above). There fore the robbers, who had broken into 29 other cars, most of which were locked and therefore had damage to windows, had only need open my door with one little gloved hand to remove the treasures in my Jeep. Those being, 4 empty packs of Winston lights, a pair of 8 year old shoes that the fabric is worn through, a old towel with god only knows on it...... and in the back.... Two sets of golf clubs. One, the very valuable set of x-18s Chris gave me, as well as the oddessy putter, Taylor made driver and Adams three wood. The other a spare set of my old clubs ( current retail value $2.08).
>>
>> BUT! Here is the terrible part! As I walked out in my just awakened at 5:00 in the morning by a cop at the door fog, I saw the Jeep with all four doors open (Making me assume there were at least two robbers, and the back hatch open with the two sets of golf clubs laying on the ground. hmmm.... looking inside all the trash I mentioned was still there, picking up the golf clubs under the bright lights of the Police cruiser, I thought how lucky I was they had left every thing. And then I started to get annoyed.... hey, my crap isn't good enough for these robbers? These are REAL golf clubs! Idiots.
>>
>> But as I looked in the bag, it turns out they did in fact take two clubs. Just two. So, I guess they are picky robbers. They took my driver (Taylor made) and my three wood. ????????????????????????????????. Ok. Those were the two with the head covers. Maybe they thought that meant something, or they were already wrapped for holiday giving, or they needed the covers to warn their little robber hands because it was cold....... Or their just idiots.
>>
>> I wasn't up set at all. In fact I became fairly pleased as I thought that the insurance would cover it, and I could start shopping for a NEW driver and 3 wood.
>> All day I had that warm feeling you get knowing you are buying new clubs soon. I could go to Golf Galaxy and try a few out, get Chris's advice, ask Dave how he likes his NEW Burner... all that..... until of course Jennifer mentioned our deductible is more than the clubs.
>>
>> Are you kidding me! These IDIOT robbers couldn't just stick the WHOLE DAMN BAG in there get away car!!!!!!! My Early bird Neighbor couldn't wait 3 %^&*% minutes to turn on his lights! The robbers couldn't have started at my house instead of ending their night of theifery at my house! You have got to be KIDDING ME. Take the whole damn bag fellows! That way I cover the deductible and can by all new (used) clubs.
>>
>> So that's my December Golf story. I am actually considering not replacing either club and just using my 3 hybrid. It might be a better way. On 15 at Indian Peaks I will need to chip to the ladies tee, and then use the 3. But hell, I NEVER par that bastard hole any way. I will be in the fairway more, and lose fewer balls. I lose an average of 3 balls a round with the driver. So, I will save about $4.50 per round. In only 27 rounds I will saved enough to replace the two clubs with identical used clubs, and will be a master of the 3 hybrid as well.
